🌍 Supporting Refugee Integration in Education: Networking & Workshop

On 15 January 2026 the Institute of English Studies at the University of Warsaw, in cooperation with British Council Poland, will host a networking and workshop event dedicated to supporting refugee integration in education. The event will bring together students preparing to become teachers, academics working in the field of multilingual and multicultural education, as well as practitioners supporting refugee- and migrant-background learners.

Programme Highlights:

Presentation by BA students completing the course Teaching English in Multicultural Classrooms
Presentation by the NGO Chlebem i Solą, focusing on experiences of working with migrant and refugee-background students
Focus-group discussions with teachers and NGO representatives on current challenges and practices in multicultural classrooms in Poland

The event aims to create a collaborative space for sharing experiences, discussing good practices, and building connections between those involved in inclusive education. Participants will have an opportunity to exchange perspectives from different educational settings, reflect on current needs, and consider how institutions and teachers can strengthen support for multilingual and refugee-background students.
