Call for Master’s Graduates in Multilingualism & Language Policy (EFNIL MTA 2026)

The European Federation of National Institutions for Language (EFNIL) has officially opened the EFNIL Master’s Thesis Award 2026 – an annual competition recognising outstanding MA theses in language use, language policy, and multilingualism across Europe.

What’s in it for the winners?

  • €1500 EFNIL Master’s Thesis Award (for each of the three winners)
  • Invitation to present at the annual EFNIL international conference (all expenses covered)
  • Publication opportunity in EFNIL’s conference proceedings
  • Option to publish the full thesis on the EFNIL website

Who can apply?
Graduates whose MA theses were assessed by a European university in 2025 or by 15 January 2026, addressing topics such as multilingual language use, language policy, bilingual education, language technologies, translation, or comparative policy research. Theses may focus on any European language.
