Japanese-Polish Research Collaboration

This week, the Multilingualism Research Hub (University of Warsaw) is delighted to host our research partners from the Gunma University in Japan for a week of collaborative meetings, lectures, and joint reflections. Our distinguished guests are: Professor Mutsumi Iijima (Vice-President of Gunma University), Professor Takako Watanabe (Director of the Global Initiative Centre), as well as Professors Pramila Neupane and Sachiyo Takanami (Global Initiative Centre).

Our cooperation brings together scholars working on diverse yet connected themes – from teachers’ perspectives on the future use of artificial intelligence in education, through multilingual vocabulary learning and the mental lexicon, to inclusive practices, educational policy, and the role of emotions in teaching across cultures.

The visit offers a unique opportunity to deepen our partnership between the Global Initiative Centre, Gunma University, exchange methodologies, and design future studies that bridge European and East Asian perspectives on language, cognition, and education.

We’re excited to continue our conversations and explore new research directions together!
