Workshop on Generalized Additive Mixed Models (September 4-6)
We would like to invite you to the 3-day workshop on GAMMs financed from IDUB Action II 3.7 “Multilingualism”. The presenter is Dr. Mark Andrews, Senior Lecturer in Psychology, Nottingham Trent University. He is also a Research Associate at UCL and Associate Editor of the British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology. You can find some information about him here: https://www.ntu.ac.uk/staff-profiles/social-sciences/mark-andrews
The workshop will be conducted in hybrid mode. Those who prefer to attend in person, it will be held in room 1.167, at Dobra 55. The workshop takes place 10am-4 pm, with 12-1pm as lunch break. So, 5 hours of workshop a day, 3 days (September 4-6).
GAMMs are a relatively new and advanced technique, and the workshop will be conducted using RStudio. As a result, some knowledge of statistics will be assumed. This includes knowledge of the basics, of multiple regression analyses, and some knowledge of linear mixed models. You also need to feel relatively comfortable understanding R code (although the instructor has been advised to go slow with the code). Please bring your laptops with you with RStudio installed.
